Module One - What is Management

Learners will understand what it really means to “manage” and learn how to manage. The Adizes “functionalist” approach to management is explained. Management training learners will gain new insights, communication skills and practices needed to manage their departments and organizations effectively and efficiently. What is the role of conflict in management and how can one use it as a constructive resource? Learners will study environmental change, the nature of problems and opportunities, what it means to manage well, what makes up an ideal executive and what is a leader?

This course includes the following video learning sections:

• What Does it Mean to Manage Well?
• The Ideal Executive
• What is a Leader?

Learners will interactively experience video lectures from Dr, Ichak Adizes, review related articles, supported reading, review a summary of each video and be challenged with a knowledge check for each section.

Ultimately, learners will pass a module exam to earn a Completion Badge. Collect all six module badges to earn an Adizes Certificate of Completion for the Top Leadership Training Course.
